Popular Question
Am I eligible for the NDIS?
To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, under the age of 65, and have a permanent disability that significantly impacts your ability to perform everyday tasks. For a full assessment, contact us via the website or call 02 9071 0170. At Active Help we will assist you in in navigating the NDIS process, from understanding your eligibility to developing a personalised plan and connecting you with the right services and support.
What kind of support does the NDIS provide?
The NDIS generally funds reasonable and necessary supports that help individuals with disabilities live a fulfilling life. This includes assistance with daily living tasks, funding for technology and equipment, home modifications, transport services, and skill-building programs to support participants in areas like health, employment, education, and more.
How is my NDIS plan developed?
Once you’re eligible, you’ll work with an NDIS planner to create a personalised plan that outlines your goals and the services you need. This plan is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
What happens if my needs change?
If you need to change your NDIS plan as a result of your needs or circumstances changing, you can request a plan review at any time. The NDIS plan is flexible and can be adjusted to reflect changes in your circumstances, ensuring you continue to receive the support you need.
Is there a limit to how much support I can get?
The NDIS provides funding based on your individual needs and goals. Your funding will depend on the support you require to live independently and participate in the community.
Can I manage my own plan?
Yes, participants have the flexibility to choose how they manage their NDIS funding. They can self-manage, which allows them to control their funds and pay for support directly, use a plan manager, or have the NDIA manage their funds. Additionally, a combination of these options is also available.
Can I change service providers?
Yes, participants have the flexibility to choose and change service providers at any time if they’re not satisfied with the services they’re receiving. This ensures that participants have control over their support.
Can I get extra funding?
If your plan funds are running low, it’s important to contact us as soon as possible. We may arrange an unscheduled review to ensure you continue to receive the support you need. Managing your funds carefully is essential to avoid running out before your next plan review.
